Beneath the Canopy is a series of photographs that explore issues pertaining to our relationship with nature with particular focus on the damaging attitudes of our culture where our surroundings are concerned.

Through this work I have a desire to be part of a healing process to strengthen the bond between land and people and to highlight how we are not external to, but enmeshed within the complex and delicate web of the natural world. The recurring motif of symmetry references an ordering system that underlies almost every aspect of our world and its physical laws, as well as forms of social interaction such as reciprocity, empathy and dialog.
